First a little about us though...
Ali & Bess met on August 1, 1996! Ali was a student at Bishop's University in Sherbrook, PQ on summer break. He was in Toronto visiting his family. At the time he was helping a good friend by taking care of his donut shop while he was visiting family in Lebanon!
Bess on the other hand as fate would have it, was having coffee that night at the donut shop with, Geena, Vince, Joanna & Kostaki. Bess noticed Ali sitting at the counter by himself & looking bored. So she told her cousin kostaki to ask Ali to join them.
Ali who had his eye on Bess all night, without her realizing it jumped at the opportunity to join them.
Ali & Bess struck up a conversation and well soon they frankly forgot anyone else was there!
Ali later returned to Sherbrook finished out the year at Bishop's & transferred to York University to be closer to Bess.
After graduating in 1999 with a Computer Science Degree, Ali was offered a job at Sybase in Waterloo, ON. Ali moved there, where he bought a house, and once settled asked Bess to marry him!
The rest is history!
